The Creative Experience of Dan Carter
Odds & Ends
Web Animation: Vortex Nozzles
This animation was used to help introduce a hose nozzle that spins water as it sprays increasing cleaning power. It was used as a large graphic on the manufacturer's website as a way to draw attention to a revolutionary new product.
Why did I include this? Animation has always interested me. Finding a way to turn 2-dimensional imagery into 3-dimensional action is an enjoyable challenge.

Animated Logo: Sprout Gardening Tools
I created this animation for a recent promotional video to promote the new Sprout tool brand. It was created using Adobe Illustrator and Premiere.
Why did I include this? I like the fact that the leaf growing at the end of the "t" is frame-by-frame animation. Each frame is a unique drawing I created individually.
Web Animation: Mpact Cleaning Tools
This animation was used to introduce a hose nozzle that utilizing the same physics that help airplanes fly in order to forcefully pulsate water to clean away dirt and debris. It was used as a large graphic on the manufacturer's website as a splashy way to draw attention to a new product line.
Why did I include this? This is another example where animating how the product works explains the concept making it easier for consumer to understand.

Illustration: Granny on a Motorcycle
The cartoon illustrated the power of a media management system. The system was able to define and target very small demographic segments with a high degree of accuracy. "Grandmothers who ride motorcycles" seemed like an amusing and extreme example to emphasize the strength of the system .
Why did I include this? One of the most important creative tools is still a pencil and a piece of paper. Drawing is a very direct form of creativity with immediate results. It is a fun and satisfying experience.
Trade Show Presentation Graphics: Melnor - The National Hardware Show - Las Vegas
An exhibit at one of the largest tradeshows in the world has to compete with all sorts of visual noise for the attention of thousands of attendees. I created this animated opening for a video that was presented on multiple screens on the floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Why did I include this? Using a combination of programs from the Adobe Creative Suite I was able to create a simple opening that added motion and drama to a tradeshow booth. I especially like the way the logo comes in from the foreground drawing the viewer into the experience.

Philosophy: Don't take yourself too seriously.
After a long day of art directing a photoshoot that included multiple models in various costumes, it was hard to resist combining a couple of the props into an quick way to show my inner self.
Why did I include this? Because life is short. Have a little fun while you're at it!
